Jon Stewart roasts Trump at veterans benefit show: Hes like an Internet troll running for president
Former Daily Show host Jon Stewart dug into Donald Trump again on Tuesday during a rare stand-up appearance benefiting US veterans, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
People are like, I like Trump; he says what he thinks. What he thinks is stupid, Stewart said during the Stand Up For Heroes event hosted by the New York Comedy Festival. Thats like if your friend is like, I would like to f*ck your mom. Why would you say that? I dont give a sh*t if youre politically correct, just be correct, correct.
Stewart, who left the show this past August just as Trumps presidential run was picking up steam, described his campaign as being like an Internet comment troll running for president, and asked the audience, Are we really doing this Donald Trump thing? Were really doing that as a country?
The former host who last week agreed to produce short-form digital content for HBO also mocked Trumps closest rival, former neurosurgeon Ben Carson, saying the former Johns Hopkins resident had the greatest juxtaposition between volume of voice and craziness of shit he says.
Hearing Carson try to explain his comparing the Affordable Care Act to slavery and attacking his mother with a hammer, Stewart said, showed that he says the softest spoken crazy sh*t Ive ever heard,
Stewart also addressed the issue of gun safety legislation, insisting that he did not want to take anyones guns away.
Lets just be smart about it. But we wont even f*cking talk about it. Thirty thousand people die each year: Suicides, homicides, guns. We dont do sh*t. he said. We dont do anything. We dont even say anything. You know what you need to buy a gun? Money. You know what you need to adopt a cat? They will come to your f*cking house! Just to make sure its a safe environment for a cat.
